Pricing Page Copy and Tier Framing

by Maya ChenNew

Overview

Give it your tiers, features and prices. You get pricing page copy that makes the choice obvious: tier names, one-line positioning per tier, the feature table reordered by what buyers decide on, the FAQ that removes purchase anxiety, and an honest read on where your packaging is confusing.

What you'll get

The eval scores every deliverable against exactly this before it reaches you.

A Markdown pricing page deliverable containing: (1) tier names with one-line positioning and a 'who this is for' line each; (2) the feature table reordered by decision relevance with table stakes grouped at the bottom; (3) a recommended default tier with reasoning; (4) six to eight FAQ entries covering billing, limits, upgrades, downgrades, cancellation and data; (5) CTA microcopy per tier; (6) a 'Where your packaging is confusing' section of three to five direct observations.

# Pricing page — transcription and meeting notes

## Tiers

### Free — $0
**Positioning:** Try it on your own meetings before you involve anyone else.
**Who this is for:** One person who wants to see whether the transcripts are actually accurate on their accent, their audio and their jargon.
**CTA:** Start transcribing
**Microcopy:** No card. 5 hours a month, forever.

### Pro — $18 per user / month
**Positioning:** For a team that has agreed the notes should live somewhere everyone can find them.
**Who this is for:** Small teams already pasting summaries into Slack or Notion by hand.
**CTA:** Start a Pro trial
**Microcopy:** 40 hours per user each month. Extra hours are $0.50 — no cut-off mid-meeting.

### Business — $34 per user / month
**Positioning:** For companies where someone has to answer for who can see the recordings.
**Who this is for:** Organisations with an IT or security function that will ask about SSO and retention before anyone can buy.
**CTA:** Talk to us or start now
**Microcopy:** Unlimited hours and unlimited retention, with admin controls and SSO.

## Recommended default
**Pro.** Mark it as the default visually. It is the only tier where the product does the job the buyer came for — Free cannot integrate, so the notes stay stranded in the tool, and Business is bought for governance rather than capability. Do not mark Business as 'most popular' if it is not; a buyer who later discovers the label was decorative discounts everything else on the page.

## Feature table, reordered by what buyers decide on

**The rows that decide the purchase**
| | Free | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transcription hours per month | 5 | 40 per user | Unlimited |
| Extra hours | — | $0.50 / hour | Included |
| Slack and Notion integrations | — | Yes | Yes |
| AI summaries | — | Yes | Yes |
| How long recordings are kept | — | 90 days | Unlimited |
| SSO | — | — | Yes |
| Admin controls | — | — | Yes |

**Everything else**
| | Free | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Users | 1 | Unlimited seats, billed per user | Unlimited seats, billed per user |
| Support | Community | Standard | Priority |
| Annual billing | — | 2 months free | 2 months free |

Retention is in the top table deliberately. It reads like an administrative detail and it is in fact the row that loses you Business deals when a security reviewer finds it late.

## FAQ

**What happens when I hit 40 hours on Pro?**
Nothing stops. Additional hours are billed at $0.50 each on your next invoice. We do not cut off a transcription mid-meeting.

**What happens to my transcripts after 90 days on Pro?**
They are deleted. Export anything you need to keep, or move to Business for unlimited retention. [YOU MUST CONFIRM: the brief does not state whether users are warned before deletion. If they are not, add a warning before launch — silent deletion of a customer's meeting record is the single most damaging thing on this page.]

**Can I mix tiers across my team?**
[YOU MUST CONFIRM: not stated in the brief, and it is a top-three sales question for per-seat products.]

**What happens if I downgrade from Business to Pro?**
Your retention window becomes 90 days, which means older recordings become subject to deletion. Export first. [YOU MUST CONFIRM whether deletion is immediate or after a grace period.]

**Do unused hours roll over?**
No. Hours reset each billing period.

**How does annual billing work?**
Pay for ten months, get twelve. Billed once, up front.

**Can I cancel whenever I want?**
Yes. Monthly plans stop at the end of the current period, and you keep access until then. No cancellation call and no retention offer.

**Who can see our recordings?**
On Free and Pro, anyone in your workspace with access to the meeting. On Business, admin controls let you restrict this. Point security reviewers straight here.

## Where your packaging is confusing

1. **The Free-to-Pro jump is a cliff, not a step.** Free has no integrations at all, so a Free user never experiences the product's actual value — notes arriving where the team already works. They are evaluating transcription accuracy alone, which is the one thing every competitor also has. Consider putting one integration on Free; you would likely convert more than the seats you would lose.

2. **90-day retention on Pro will generate support tickets and it will generate them angrily.** A meeting transcript is the kind of artefact people go looking for eleven months later, exactly once, usually because something has gone wrong. Whatever the warning policy is, put it on this page rather than in the terms.

3. **Overage at $0.50/hour is priced above the tier it sits in.** Pro is $18 for 40 hours, which is $0.45 an hour. A customer who does the arithmetic discovers that going over costs more per hour than staying under, and a small number of them will feel penalised for using the product more. It is defensible, but only if the page says why.

4. **'Unlimited hours' on Business needs a fair-use boundary or a stated one.** Unlimited with no stated limit invites the one account that ruins the margin, and quietly throttling them later costs more trust than a published cap would have.

5. **Business is differentiated only by governance, and governance buyers are not the page's reader.** The person who lands here is usually the team lead, and nothing in Business is for them. Either add one capability a team lead would want, or accept that Business is a sales-led motion and stop expecting the page to sell it.
